A 1995 graduate of Sam Houston State University, where he studied instrument pedagogy under Dr. Gary Sousa and Trumpet with David McChesney, Mr. Tienor is entering his twenty-second year of teaching and his seventh year as the Head Director at Lewis Middle School.
While at Lewis, Mr. Tienor and the Symphonic Band has received numerous first division ratings at UIL Concert and Sightreading contest. Individual Symphonic Band members have represented Lewis in the Region Orchestras, Region Bands, and District Bands. As well as overseeing all band activities, Mr. Tienor is the director of the Lewis Symphonic Band, the Concert II Band, the Cadet Band, and the Jazz Band.
Mr. Tienor is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association. Outside of the Lewis Bands, Mr. Tienor enjoys spending time with his wife, Chrissy and three boys, Nick, Aaron, and Jacob.
Mr. Jones is also an 1995 graduate of Sam Houston State University where he studied instrument pedagogy with Dr. Gary Sousa and Trombone with Dr. Henry Howey. Mr. Jones will be entering his third year at Lewis after spending fifteen years as the Director of Bands for Nimitz High School.
Mr. Jones is the director of the Concert I band, which also represents Lewis at the UIL Concert and Sightreading contest. While only being at Lewis for a few years, the Concert I band has shown tremendous growth in becoming a superior performing ensemble. Mr. Jones also assists with the beginning band program at Parker Intermediate.
He is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association. Mr. Jones enjoys spending time with his wife, Tami, and his son, Andruw.
